About Me
-
I am an African American, queer therapist who specializes in challenges faced by other queer minorities which include trauma, behavioral issues, relationships, and sex. I use she/her pronouns and identify as a lesbian. I am originally from Georgia, and have been in Colorado for a year & half. Being from the south I was raised a part of the Methodist church, after the backlash received from others in the community due to my sexual identity and ways of thinking, I have since then stepped away from the church and now identity as Spiritual. I have found an interest in deconstructing what I was raised to believe and educate my own thoughts and beliefs. I received my Masters from Northcentral in Marriage and Family therapy in 2025 with a concentration in children and adolescents. I also hold a bachelors in Psychology & minor in African American Studies from Georgia State University (The Real GSU). I have worked in the mental health field as a behavioral specialist during my earlier years and have experience providing community based therapy. I have experience speaking on podcasts, and mental health panels, which I have found that I thoroughly enjoy! In my spare time I enjoying being a new dog mom with my girlfriend to our Dutch Shepherd Max, cooking, baking, reading, learning how to play the guitar and DJ, rewatching the PowerPuff girls & Drumline, and creating playlists.

I am a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Candidate in the state of Colorado

I began my journey in the mental health field shortly after the passing of my grandmother. I began my undergrad experience as a Biology major but once she became sick during the start of my sophomore year I began to have a strong urge to switch my major to Psychology, since I was already on a social science track (a mixup from the University) I already completed most of the prerequisites for the switch. After her passing I learned of her lifelong dream to become a Psychiatrist, but she opted to become a teacher after the birth of my father. I do feel that she was a guiding force in my purpose of becoming a therapist. Once I received my degree I worked as a behavioral specialist with children and adolescents in a residential program, and a mental health associate at Emory University Hospital. During my time at both sites I noticed my ability to connect with my clients and help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives, I made the decision to enroll in a Marriage & family Masters program to become a therapist and have a more clinical experience with individuals and families. As an African American, queer neurodivergent woman myself, I feel deeply connected to helping queer, neurodivergent minorities through challenges that have impacted their lives and relationships.

My current interests include baking, resin art, learning how to play the guitar and DJ. I have also started collecting different PowerPuff girl figurines! So far I have mostly Buttercup, but I am working to have the entire cast!

My personal and professional values are informed by commitment to social justice, critical race theory, queer theory, feminist theory. I value creativity, honesty, accountability, and challenging social norms. I am straightforward and speak my mind. I like to challenge dated ideas, and ways of thinking by offering different perspectives. I am collaborative, sex positive, and non-pathologizing in my approach and aim to help my clients reach their most authentic desires and fulfilling relationships. My clients safety, privacy, and autonomy are important to me.
